We offer translations in more than 100 languages.

Our global business is expanding rapidly.  To support this expansion, we are looking for an Account Executive to assist in increasing revenue from both Japanese and expatriate clients located in Japan.

The person we are seeking must have technical nous and enjoy working with technology, particularly social media. They must have the discipline to be able to work on their own to achieve targets set by their manager. Working from home is an option with regular visits to the office as required.

Straker Translations offers a good salary, twice-annual bonus and long term employment for the right person with potential for advancement to more senior positions.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Using technology and social media to increase awareness of Straker Translations in Japan
  • Identify potential new clients, particularly those with high translation requirements
  • Carry out company best practices in lead generation, evaluation and adopting technologies to make the process faster, easier and more effective.
  • Learn about Straker Translation’s technologies, services and value propositions and meet with clients as required and present our value proposition.
  • Prepare quotations upon request from both clients and potential clients and convert them to revenue
  • Achieve set budget targets
  • Ensure correct pricing and business model application for long term growth and margin optimization.


  • Excellent written and verbal skills in Japanese and able to read and write English well and have a reasonable speaking ability.
  • Technical aptitude and a strong interest in technology and social media
  • Presentable with good interpersonal skills and comfortable working with colleagues in overseas locations
  • Digital sales experience, such as using LinkedIn, AdWords marketing or general sales experience would be an advantage
  • Experience in the translation industry not essential.
